COVID-19 Reopening Schools Safely

LAE’s top priority is protecting the health and safety of students, educators, and their families. As educators, we all miss our students and are eager to restore some sense of normalcy for them, but we have to weigh the risks along with the benefits of reopening our school facilities. We cannot afford to put one student’s or educator’s life at risk.

COVID Action Task Force

The impact of COVID-19 is far-reaching, with the potential to drastically affect the lives of educators and students across Louisiana. Because the professionals working in our schools have critically important insights into what solutions are best for providing children with the education they deserve, LAE has established a task force of members across the state to examine ways to respond to issues that may arise in the wake of this ongoing health crisis. This team, which we call our COVID Action Taskforce (or CAT Team), will examine state and local positions on all issues related to the pandemic that stand to impact our educators’ working conditions and our students’ learning conditions.
