About LAE

Purpose and Power in Community
LAE brings the expertise, drive, and dedication of 18,000 educators and allies to advancing justice and excellence in public education.
LAE represents the professionals working in Louisiana's K-12 public school system. Members are teachers, paraprofessionals, counselors, psychologists, librarians, food service workers, school secretaries, custodians, bus drivers, and other non-supervisory certificated personnel. Membership in the association allows educators to draw upon the expertise of their colleagues to help advance in the education profession.

Our Mission, Vision & Values

We are as diverse as the students we represent, but united in our purpose: championing justice and excellence in public education.
Chris Dier
Being a part of a union gives me a powerful feeling of strength, knowing I’m standing alongside my colleagues in our efforts to best support the students we serve.
