It's Time to Get it Right, Louisiana!

All children in Louisiana deserve access to a great education. In order for this to be possible, the state needs to prioritize investing in K-12 public schools. Local school systems across the state are losing out on billions of dollars in revenue to corporate tax exemptions. Money that could be used to put state-of-the-art technology in the hands of every public school student, instead goes to benefit big businesses.

It’s time to get it right, Louisiana! Demand that elected officials put students’ needs first when considering corporate tax exemption proposals. Our schools and our children’s future depends on it.

LAE's Thank a Louisiana Educator

Through a partnership with the NEA and the Louisiana Press Association, LAE's Thank a Louisiana Educator Campaign aims to share Louisiana’s positive public school success stories that all-too-often go unrecognized, with the overall goal of raising educator morale across the state.

Time to Learn

Today's student testing craze has gone to far. Not only do state standardized test district students from meaningful learning, they deprive children of the unique classroom experiences that come with innovation in the classroom.

LAE B.O.L.D.

It's the LAE's mission to empower educators to be "bold" in standing up for the best interests of their colleagues, their schools, their communities, but most importantly, their students. In order to fulfill this goal, we encourage members to help the association:

  • BUILD influence through helping LAE promote one-of-a-kind professional development and advocacy initiatives.
  • ORGANIZE public school employees to initiate a movement to strengthen the collective voice of Louisiana’s education professionals.
  • LEAD efforts in individual school districts in order to improve local education policies.
  • DEMAND access to better educational experiences for Louisiana's public school students.
